{"id":5805,"date":"2022-12-21T23:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-22T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gorga.org\/blog\/?p=5805"},"modified":"2022-12-21T22:52:48","modified_gmt":"2022-12-22T03:52:48","slug":"2022-winter-solstice-print","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gorga.org\/blog\/?p=5805","title":{"rendered":"2022 Winter Solstice Print"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Those of you who have been following this blog for some time are probably familiar with my &#8216;Winter Solstice Print&#8221; tradition; if you are not I refer you to <a href=\"http:\/\/gorga.org\/blog\/?p=4928\">this post<\/a>, where there are some details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s print (the tenth) is a cuprotype, titled \u201cTwo Pears\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In late August, Joan picked the remaining pears from the tree in our yard because the local squirrels were decimating the crop. I had been experimenting with cuprotype since early August. Watching these pears on the kitchen counter for several weeks, I decided that a photograph of the pears was an apt subject for the warm tones of cuprotype and went to work. The exposure was made on 13 September 2022 in my basement studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This scan does not do justice to the originals which do not have the &#8216;grain&#8217; seen here.
