{"id":305,"date":"2010-09-12T10:31:26","date_gmt":"2010-09-12T14:31:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gorga.org\/blog\/?p=305"},"modified":"2010-09-12T10:31:26","modified_gmt":"2010-09-12T14:31:26","slug":"caterpillars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gorga.org\/blog\/?p=305","title":{"rendered":"Caterpillars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>And now for something <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">completely<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">somewhat<\/span> just a little different&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Twice over the past week, Joan alerted me to the presence of interesting caterpillars in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, as a <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">husband<\/span> photographer who wants to keep on the good side of my <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">wife<\/span> chief wildlife spotter, I came promptly with my camera sporting a 90 mm macro lens with a 32 mm extension tube in both cases. Off camera flash was also used in both cases, flash with softbox, set to 1-2 stops under ambient, and lying on the ground nearby.<\/p>\n<p>Both of these &#8220;fellows&#8221; were found literally with in feet of our front doors&#8230; the brown furry &#8220;guy&#8221; at our &#8220;camp&#8221; in NH over Labor Day weekend and the multicolored &#8220;guy&#8221; at the house yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>I have no idea on their identities, but here are the photos:<\/p>\n<p>[nggallery id=27]<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And now for something completely somewhat just a little different&#8230; Twice over the past week, Joan alerted me to the presence of interesting caterpillars in the neighborhood.
