{"id":1627,"date":"2013-03-14T18:00:31","date_gmt":"2013-03-14T22:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gorga.org\/blog\/?p=1627"},"modified":"2013-03-14T16:45:31","modified_gmt":"2013-03-14T20:45:31","slug":"powdermill-pond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gorga.org\/blog\/?p=1627","title":{"rendered":"Powdermill Pond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, I made the short (five or six miles?) drive from our house to the west shore of Powdermill Pond in Hancock.\u00a0 This &#8220;pond&#8221; is actually a dammed section of the Contoocook River.\u00a0 The dams (there are three) hold water for use by the Monadnock Paper Mill in Bennington. The upper two dams may also be (or have been) used for power.<\/p>\n<p>I was hoping to catch the light of the setting sun on the eastern (i.e. the west-facing) side of the pond with Crotched Mountain in the background.<\/p>\n<p>The third photo was taken on the drive back home.
